Harrogate and Thirsk Veterans Take The Honours.
Our Veterans league has just completed another successful season, and following a great tussle between Harrogate Veterans and Sherburn White Rose Veterans, the Premier League title went to the former again, but this time by the virtue of a single point!
Congratulations to Harrogate who completed the whole season unbeaten and also won the Charity Cup, but they were pushed all the way by a determined Sherburn side, who also must be saluted for their superb performance throughout.
The Championship also provided its fair share of thrills! The outcome was a little clearer with Thirsk Veterans winning by seven points. Goal difference had to come into play for second place, but in the end Barwick Veterans edged out Harrogate Veterans Over 50’s by six goals.
Well done to all the teams that have competed in these two divisions. The standard of football has been superb and we have had nothing but praise for the conduct of this league.
The new season starts in September, and we look forward to welcoming all our teams back.
