League veterans The MOB FC were crowned league champions of our Winchester Wednesday 6-a-Side League last night.

Having finished in third place the previous season, the Manor Old Boys proved that the old dogs still had some new tricks as they finished the campaign on top spot with a six point cushion.

Having earned a 3-0 win earlier in the night over Hundy Reserves, the silverware would have been secured with just a draw in their second game. Not to be weighed down by keeping it tight; Dynamo Anchor were comfortably beaten 4-0 by the MOB as they wrapped up the title in style.

Well done to previous league winners Mustangs who took the Runners up spot, And third place Phoenix FC who saw their title hopes go up in flames having lost three on the bounce in a February to forget.

The new season of the Wednesday night league starts next week. We already have four new teams signed up for the season, including the returning Swansong FC, back for maybe one last shot at glory?
