Lions Roar After Burton League Triumph.

The final night of Football Mundial’s Burton On Trent 6 a side season saw 6 Lions come out victorious.

The league, which runs every Wednesday evening from seven til ten, saw ten entrants this year, and the destination of the title was not decided until the last night of the season.

Going into the final round of fixtures, both 6 Lions and Jav’s Allstars had a chance to lift the trophy, and were to face each other in the final game of the night, hosted at Shobnall Leisure Centre.

After a fairly routine 4-1 victory for the Lions over Steve Morison FC, it all came down to the winner-takes-all clash between the two title contenders. When the final whistle blew on the final game of the season, it was Lions’ captain Hamzah Khalique who celebrated by lifting the trophy.

Throughout the season they showed true title winning form, losing just two of their 18 matches and with a healthy goal difference of +41.
