SASH Tournament A Success.
Followers of this website will already know that over the last few weeks, we have been helping homeless charity SASH with their preparations for the Charity 6-a-side tournament that they were planning to hold.
Well, the day has been and gone and we are very pleased to announce that it was a great success.
Fourteen local businesses took part in the competition that was held at York Sport Village on the 11th September, and out of those teams, several also play in our league and it was great to see them turn out.
Recently, we received an email from SASH’s Community Fundraiser, Emma Bracegirdle, which stated that they had raised a superb £1306.00, which was enough to provide 70 nights of emergency accommodation to vulnerable young people.
From all of us at football mundial, we would like to say well done to SASH for a great day, our York League Organiser Jon Sykes went down and came back saying how good it was. Also, well done on a superb amount of money raised and finally well done to all of the players and the volunteers that made it all possible – great work!
There is even the possibility that this tournament will be run again, such was the positive feedback that SASH received, so there may be an opportunity for even more football mundial teams to get involved and raise much needed funds for a great cause.
